My Thoughts On TheAmazingAthiest

September 28, 2009

Some of you may have seen his videos on YouTube, maybe just saw a glimpse of them on the home page. Well, over time, I have been wondering when his foolishness will end his life. Well, I happened to watch a recent video he put up last Saturday. It was the only one of his that I actually watched. As I watched his video, I wanted to rejoice, but a thought told me to keep watching. That’s when I saw that he pulled a trick. But, something happened while I was watching that video.

I decided it was time for me to pray. I prayed for the forgiveness of his sins after I prayed for the forgiveness of my own sins. For a brief moment, I could actually see through pride’s veil and could see him the way Jesus sees him. I want to see him become a Christian for real, so that I can see him do amazing things. I want someone to come along and rip Pride’s veil in two, so that he can truly see what is beyond the veil. I wish I could help him in any sort of way, but the only thing I can do from here is share my testimonies and convince others the best that I can that Jesus is truly real in my life.

I’m looking forward to seeing TheAmazingChristian on YouTube, one day.

World Peace, My Perspective

September 21, 2009

I noticed Peace Day videos on YouTube, so I decided to give a few thoughts on it.

World Peace is a very nice goal to aim for. However, given how things are, there is no chance that the human race can obtain World Peace by their own means. Let me start with the basic facts:

The human race is evil by nature. Ever since the fall of mankind, people everywhere have what is called by some the “sinful nature”, by others, “the flesh”. Mankind had been given dominion over this planet thousands of years ago. However, our rebellion gave that rulership over to Satan. In some portions of the Bible, especially in the New Testament, Satan is referred to as “god of this world”. Unfortunately, the kingdom takes after the king. Our nature naturally draws closer to evil than it does to good. Now, I ask you a question. Can true peace come from an evil nature? Matthew 7: 17-18 says this:

“Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.”

This brings me to my next point. What if I promised you great power? Your automatic response would likely be “Yes! Gimmie! Now!” Well, maybe not as dramatic as that, but chances are you would not turn down that deal, with the assumption that I was not lying. That is another great hurdle to peace: mankind’s lust for power.

Now, I’m going to go through some rough territory: religion. Try your best not to misunderstand me here, but the religious spirit is indeed an obstacle to World Peace. So, this statement may lead to people questioning my claim that I am a Christian. I have an answer for that. First off, the religious spirit is a counterfeit to Christianity. As far as talks of religion are concerned, the world tends to group Christianity in with the rest of the religions. Christians who have walked enough with the Lord know that Christianity is not a religion. Religion is basically “You have to do these things in a particular pattern each week, and you have to believe certain doctrines, etc. if you want to achieve peace.” Christianity is not that at all. Even we Christians have made the mistake of making a religion out of Christianity. The outline of the whole story since Creation is that mankind fell since Adam, and ever since the death of Christ on the cross and His resurrection, the price for the sin has been paid. All we need to do is accept the Lord as our personal Savior, and we are no longer citizens of Satan’s kingdom. 1 Corinthians 15:22 says this:

“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”

So, what happens after we have accepted Jesus as our Savior? We still have our duty on our to witness to those who still have their citizenship in the kingdom of darkness. But, there is one more thing: we enter into a relationship with God. For more information on this, see my blog on the religious spirit.

Anyway, getting back to the whole religion thing, ever since man’s fall, Satan has been trying to lead us away from a relationship with God through religions. Have you ever heard the saying, “To hide a tree, use a forest”? That’s exactly what happened here. Even today, Satan has camouflaged Christianity with religions so cleverly, some of us Christians end up getting deceived into thinking we have to do this and that to get saved. And I kid you not, I was one of them. So, how can we tell the real deal from the big fakes? It is very simple: imagine us as trees and observe our fruit. Galatians 5:22-25 explains very well the nature of the spirit as opposed to the sinful nature:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

So, how do I know my Lord exists? I have testimonies to prove it, and the ones on my blog site are only some of them. But there is a way you can find out that God exists. All you need to do is ask. This is the promise given by Jesus in Matthew 7:7-8:

“”Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

The only factor remaining is faith. Faith comes in where if you believe that if the Lord exists, He will surely lead you to Him. A better way to think about it is “seek and you will find”. You cannot find what you are not seeking.

One final thing pertaining to religion. I do not respect John Lennon’s “Imagine” song in any way. When he mentioned religion, the thing that was on his mind was Christianity. Here is a quote from him: “Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first – rock and roll or Christianity.” If only he realized that without Jesus, only the chaos that comes from the sin nature will remain.

Getting back to the fruits of the Spirit, notice that one of the fruits is peace. When we are born again after accepting Jesus as our Savior, we obtain the spirit nature. Put in the simplest manner, there is only one route to true peace: Jesus Christ. That is my perspective on World Peace.

Unquenchable Desire

September 2, 2009

At the beginning of August, I made a request to my Lord for a girlfriend. To honor my request, I promised to go through the month without falling into the sinful state of lust. As the month went by, I clashed with the enemy, and I slipped a few times, but I never fell. I was determined to fight for my honor head-on, and I wasn’t going to screw up.

Around the end of the month, I began to have a very strong desire to have a close relationship with someone else. My want for a girlfriend now became a desire, like a need, even. It’s like when you get hungry, you desire food. But if you don’t get that food, the desire becomes stronger and stronger. Though it’s not exactly like it, it is similar enough. Recently, the desire has become so strong, that it physically hurts. What’s worse is that the enemy has been attempting to pervert my desire with lust, and that has caused me to make worse slips.

Attempting to alleviate this desire, somewhat, I tried watching some YouTube videos. However, that attempt is starting to backfire, as that website is what the enemy has been using to cause me to slip. Of course, the website itself isn’t bad. It’s just that there are some videos that can trigger lust, and those sometimes end up either in the Related Videos column or even on the home page. Anyway, I’ve been looking for reasons to get out of the house, whether it be for groceries, or something else. It definitely helps to be away from the computer and the video games.

I’m hoping this is a sign that I am about to meet her. I don’t know when or where, but I must continue to be patient and wait for that moment.
